How To Get A Fishing License In Your State

A fishing license is required for every state if you are fishing in a public body of water.  Each state has rules and different costs. There are different amounts for the length of time you plan to fish as well. Some even offer lifetime licenses.  It also depends if you are a resident or not as well. So, you will need to check below and see what your state offers.  

Alabama- Resident $13.55  Non-resident $52 for annual or 29.95 for 7 day.

Alaska- Resident $29.00  Non-resident $145 for annual or they have 1, 3, 7 and 14-day options as well.

Arizona- Resident $37.00 and non-resident is $55

Arkansas- Resident $10.50 and non-resident is $50 with options for 3 and 7 days as well.

California- Resident $49.94 with daily options too Non-resident $134.74 for annual or they have 1, 2 and 10-day options as well.

Colorado-Resident is $26 and non-resident is $56 with 1 and 5-day options.

Connecticut-Resident is $28 and non-resident is $55 with a 3-day option at $22.

Delaware-Resident is $11 and non-resident is $22.50 with a 7-day option at $15.

Florida-Resident is $17 and non-resident is $47.00 with a 3-day option at $17.

Georgia-Resident is $15 and non-resident is $50 with a 1-day option at $10.

Hawaii-Resident is $6.00 and non-resident is $26.00 with a 7-day option at $11.

Idaho-Resident is $30.50 with a 1-day option of $13.50 and non-resident is $31.50 with a 1-day option at $10.50.

Illinois-Resident is $15 and non-resident is $31.50 with a 3-day option at $15.50.

Indiana-Resident is $17.00 and non-resident is $35 with a 1-day option at $9.

Iowa-Resident is $19 and non-resident is $41 with a 1-day option at $10.50, a 3-day option at $17.50. and 7-day option $32.

Kansas-Resident is $27.50 and non-resident is $52.50 with a 1-day option at $14.50 and 5 days is $27.50.

Kentucky-Resident is $23 with a $7 one-day option and non-resident is $50 with a 1-day option at $10.  Thre are also 7 and 10-day options as well.

Louisiana-Resident is $9.50 and non-resident is $60.00 with a 1-day option at $5.

Maine-Resident is $25 with an $11 one day option and non-resident is $64.00 with a 1-day option at $11.  There are also 3,7 and 15 days for non-residents.

Maryland-Resident is $20.50 and non-resident is $30.50.  This is a unique state that charges non-residents $30.50 but if their home state charges more, then they go by that charge.  

Massachusetts-Resident is $27.50 and 3 days is $12.50 and non-resident is $37.50 with a 3-day option at $23.50.

Michigan-Resident is $26 or a 1 day $10 and non-resident is $76 with a 1-day option at $10 and 3 day of $30.

Minnesota-Resident is $25, one day is $12 and 3 days is $14 and non-resident is $60 with a 3-day option at $15 and a one day option at $8.

Missouri-Resident is $12 and non-resident is $42.

Montana-Resident is $31 and a two-day option is $15 and non-resident is $111 with a 2-day option at $50.00, 10 day option is $81.

Nebraska-Resident is $38 annual but 1 day is $10 and 3 day is $31 and non-resident is $76 with a 3-day option at $237 and 1 day is $13.

New Hampshire- Resident is $45 and 1 day is $10 and non-resident is $63 with a 3-day option at $28 and 1 day is $15 while a 7 day is $35.

New Jersey-Resident is $22.50 and non-resident is $34 with a 2-day option at $9 and 7 day is $19.50

New Mexico-Resident is $25, 1 day is $12 and 5 day is $24 and non-resident is $56 with a 1-day option at 12 and 5 day is $24.

New York-Resident is $25 1 day is $5 and 7 days is $12 and non-resident is $50 with a 1-day option at $10 and 1 day is $10 and 7 day is $28.

North Carolina- Resident is $20 and 10 day is $7 and non-resident is $36 with a 10-day option at $18.

North Dakota-Resident is $16 and non-resident is $45 with a 3-day option at $25 and 10 day at $35.

Ohio-Resident is $19 and 1 day option is $11 and non-resident is $44.20 with a 1-day option at $11.

Oklahoma-Resident is $25 or 2 day is $15 and non-resident is $55 with a 1-day option at $15 and 6 day is $35.

Oregon-Resident is $41.00. 1 day is $21, 2 day is $38 and 3 day is $54.50 and non-resident is $103.50 with a 1 day option at $21, 2 day is $38, 3 day is $54.50 and 7 day is $84.50.

Pennsylvania-Resident is $22.90 with other options and non-resident is $52.90 with a 1-day option at $26.90 and other options.

Rhode Island-Resident is $18 and non-resident is $35 with a 3-day option at $16.

South Carolina-Resident is $10 and non-resident is $35 with a 14-day option at $11.

South Dakota-Resident is $28 and non-resident is $67 with a 1-day option at $16.

Tennessee-Resident is $34 and non-resident is $50 with a 3-day option at $20.50.

Texas-Resident is $30 and non-resident is $58 with a 1-day option at $16.

Utah-Resident is $34 and non-resident is $75 with a 3-day option at $24.

Vermont-Resident is $26 and non-resident is $52 with a 3-day option at $23.

Virginia-Resident is $23 and non-resident is $47 with a 3-day option at $22.

Washington-Resident is $29.50 and non-resident is $84.50 with a 3-day option at $35.55.

West Virginia-Resident is $19 and non-resident is $37 with a 1-day option at $3.

Wisconsin-Resident is $20 and non-resident is $50 with a 1-day option at $10.

Wyoming- Resident is $27 and non-resident is $ with a 3-day option at $22.

These prices are just to give a general idea.  You should always check with the state you plan to fish.  You can purchase them online, which is the most convenient way.
